This tool aids designers in identifying and resolving design issues, ensuring alignment with the Asphalt Aloha Design System, aiming to save time and enhance collaboration with engineers.
Following the successful execution and implementation of the Asphalt - Design Lint beta version, we conducted close group research and usability testing with designers from the food and transport business units. The findings revealed a significant improvement in workflow efficiency for the average designer at Gojek. Consequently, the product designers have reduced their effort in identifying and fixing design issues by 60% and increased the accuracy of issue identification by 26%. This translates to estimated annual time savings of 4,259 hours and cost savings of $93,709 for the company going forward.
As the Gojek design team plans to merge Product Designers into full-stack designers, ensuring consistency and compliance with our design system across all products becomes a significant challenge. We acknowledge that expecting designers to manually inspect every UI aspect of their designs with each feature release is unrealistic. This can result in discrepancies between what the designer has shipped and what the engineer discovers, potentially impacting the development process and requiring additional time to resolve.
